SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Malaysia-based Optimal Olefins has extended a turnaround at its 600,000 tonne/year gas cracker in Kerteh, Terengganu, slightly by a few days, a source close to the company said on Wednesday.

The cracker is still on track to be shut on 1 September but will now be offline for close to 50 days instead of 45 days, the source added without elaborating further.

Optimal Olefins is a joint venture between Malaysia’s state-owned oil and gas firm PETRONAS and US petrochemicals major Dow Chemical.
