LONDON (ICIS)--France-based Arkema will hold a turnaround at its phthalic anhydride (PA) and dioctyl phthalate (DOP) units at the end of July, a company source said on Wednesday.

The turnaround will begin on 29 July, the source said, and the plants should restart during the week beginning 12 August.

Arkema’s nameplate capacity for PA at Chauny, France, is 90,000 tonnes/year, while its DOP capacity at the same site is 70,000 tonnes/year, the source confirmed.

The source said the company’s inventories should be sufficient to cover buyers’ requirements during the shutdown period, and noted that many downstream consumers also plan to hold turnarounds at this time.
