LONDON (ICIS)--Polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) imports into the EU were up by 9.1% year on year in April, but dropped by 33% in May, data from European statistics agency Eurostat showed on Thursday.
April 2013 imports amounted to 2,865 tonnes, compared with 2,627 tonnes in the same month last year, while May 2013’s import figure was 2,056 tonnes, compared with 3,048 tonnes in May 2012.
Exports from the EU were down year on year in both April and May, by 21% and 25%, respectively.
April exports were 772 tonnes, compared with 979 tonnes in April 2012, while May exports amounted to 568 tonnes, a fall from 753 tonnes in the same month last year.
Eurostat import/export data is subject to revision as more detailed information becomes available.
