LONDON (ICIS)--Butanediol (BDO) exports from the EU to the rest of the world increased by 75% year on year in April but fell back by 53% year on year in May, according to data from Eurostat on Thursday.
In April, 5,504 tonnes of BDO were exported by the EU, compared with 3,153 tonnes in April 2012. However in May, 2,324 tonnes of BDO were exported compared with 4,964 tonnes in the same month last year.
BDO imports into the EU in April rose by steeply compared with the same month in 2012. In April, 9,067 tonnes of BDO was imported into the EU, compared with 2,634 tonnes in the same month the year before. Imports fell back to 1,353 tonnes in May 2013.($1= €0.76)
