LONDON (ICIS)--Methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) exports from the EU fell by 81% year on year in April but rose by 41% year on year in May, according to data from statistics agency, Eurostat, on Thursday.
The EU exported 1,488 tonnes of MEK in April compared with 7,708 tonnes in April 2012. In May, 4,195 tonnes of MEK were exported compared with 2,985 tonnes in May 2012.MEK imports to the EU fell by 95% in April compared with April 2012, and by 86% year on year in May. In April 2013, 51 tonnes of MEK were imported in to the EU compared with 988 tonnes in April 2012. In May 2013, 77 tonnes of MEK were imported, compared with 551 tonnes in May 2012.
