EU May DEA imports, exports increase year on year

LONDON (ICIS)--Diethanolamine imports into the EU from the rest of the world increased in May year on year, as did exports but to a greater extent, according to data released on Thursday by Eurostat.

Imports from the rest of the world increased by 68%, while EU exports increased to 2,489 tonnes in May from 804 tonnes in the same month a year before.

In April, year on year, imports increased by 9.5%, while exports rose to 5,286 tonnes from 1,591 tonnes reported in April 2012.

According to industry sources, a large producer was shipping volume to the US to supply its customer base there.
