Faulty valve at BP’s Texas City plant causes chemical leak

NEW YORK (ICIS)--A valve leak at BP’s Texas City, Texas, chemical plant led to the release of several chemicals, according to a regulatory filing made available on Thursday.

The chemicals included benzene, ethylbenzene (EB), mixed xylenes (MX), orthoxylene (OX), paraxylene (OX), toluene and volatile organic compounds (VOCs), according  the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
