LONDON (ICIS)--EU bisphenol A (BPA) imports dropped in April and May, driven by weak downstream demand, data by Eurostat showed this week.

The EU's BPA imports dropped by 28% in May and by 2% in April compared with the same months a year ago.

Exports rose by only a few tonnes from April 2012 to April 2013, but rose sharply from April 2013 to May 2013, because demand was weak in Europe and sellers sought to offload stocks overseas.
