LONDON (ICIS)--The EU imported about 20 times more epichlorohydrin (ECH) in April than in the same month a year earlier, data by Eurostat showed this week.

In May, imports were almost 30 times higher than in the same month of 2012.

Exports dropped by 60% in May and 78% in April compared with the same months in 2012.

The ECH market was tight in April and May due to several maintenance shutdowns, so buyers and sellers had to import additional cargoes to match demand. Exports dropped for the same reasons.
