LONDON (ICIS)--European ammonia imports for April and May fell around 19% in each month versus the year-ago periods, Eurostat data revealed this week.
According to official statistics, ammonia imports totalled 204,777 tonnes in May versus 252,401 tonnes in the same month of 2012, while ammonia shipments fell to 180,958 tonnes in April of this year from 224,637 tonnes in April 2012.
In contrast, ammonia exports increased in the mid-single digits year on year, to 7,893 tonnes in May from 7,519 tonnes in May 2012, and to 11,917 tonnes in April from 11,160 tonnes in April 2012.
