HOUSTON (ICIS)--US-based pulp and paper products major International Paper has finalised the sale of its Temple-Inland Building Productions division to Georgia-Pacific Building Products for $70m (€53m), International Paper announced on Friday.
The Temple-Inland division includes 15 manufacturing facilities located across eight states, primarily in the southeastern and eastern portion of the U.S.; five solid wood mills; four particleboard plants; two fiberboard plants; and four gypsum wallboard plants.
Many of Temple-Inland’s products are used in the US home construction industry, which is a primary consumer market for products derived from petrochemicals. Pulp and paper is also a key consumer of caustic soda.
