MELBOURNE (ICIS)--China’s Rizhao Jiahong Biological Technology plans to shut its 100,000 tonne/year ethyl acetate (etac) plant at Rizhao in Shandong province for maintenance, a company source said on Monday.

The producer plans to shut the plant between 25 July and 25 August, the source said.

During the extended plant overhaul, the producer will limit its domestic etac sales volumes and focus its etac export sales on core customers, the source added.

Rizhao Jiahong has capped its etac output at 60% capacity since mid-May because of weak market conditions, the source said.
