SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Jiaxing Petrochemical plans to shut its 1.5m tonne/year purified terephthalic acid (PTA) plant at Jiaxing in Zhejiang province on 1 August for scheduled maintenance, a company source said on Monday.

The shutdown is expected to last for 17 days, the source said.

Tongkun Group, the parent company of Jiaxing Petrochemical, has stocked up on sufficient PTA inventories for its captive use during the shutdown, the source said.

Tongkun has a total of 2.4m tonne/year downstream polyester production capacity in Zhejiang province.
