HOUSTON (ICIS)--BioNitrogen has named Ernie Iznaga as vice president of operations, the US-based fertilizer company said on Monday.
Iznaga was previously operations manager for the company.
In addition, BioNitrogen appointed CEO Carlos Contreras to chairman of the board.
The company said former chairman Mario Beruvides will continue to serve on the board.
Board member Juan Vazquez has decided to no longer serve as a director but will continue to act as an advisor to BioNitrogen. He is being replaced by Roger Imperial of Arthur Gallagher Risk Management Services.
BioNitrogen is converting biomass into urea through a gasification and catalytic conversion. In February, the company announced plans to build five such plants in Louisiana. Output should be 621,000 tons/year.
