Japan's domestic shipments of ABS resin decrease 11% in June

TOKYO (ICIS)--Japan’s domestic shipments of acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) resin decreased 11% year on year to 18,205 tonnes in June, industry data showed on Wednesday.

Exports of ABS resin fell by 1% to 10,717 tonnes in June from the same time the previous year, according to the Nihon ABS jushi kogyokai (Japan ABS resin industry association).

Domestic shipments of ABS resin for automotive applications declined by 16% year on year to 6,887 tonnes, while shipments for electric appliances stood at 2,478 tonnes, down by 5%, based on the association’s statistics.
