SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China National Chemical Engineering Co (CNCEC) has secured an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract from Shanxi Lanhua Sci-Tech Venture for a 100,000 tonne/year caprolactam (capro) plant at Jincheng in Shanxi province, the companies said on Thursday.
The construction is expected to take 15 months, the companies said in separate statements.
The yuan (CNY) 2bn ($326m) contract was signed on 23 July, a source from Lanhua Sci-Tech said.
Lanhua Sci-Tech announced in April 2012 that it planned to spend CNY4.5bn to build a 200,000 tonne/year capro project in two phases.
The company has not yet set a timetable for the second phase project, according to the source.
