SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Zhejiang Hengyi Group expects to bring its new 1.5m tonne/year paraxylene (PX) facility in Brunei on stream in 2016, a company source said on Thursday.
“Currently, things are going on [track] as scheduled and we target to start up the PX unit in 2016,” the source said.
In early 2012, the company announced that it will build a new petrochemical complex in Brunei. Besides the PX unit, the complex will include a 1.5m light naphtha facility and a 500,000 tonne/year benzene plant as well as produce diesel, gasoline and jet fuel.
