Sinopec, Mitsui to complete China phenol-acetone plant in end 2013

CHANGSA, China (ICIS)--Mitsui Chemical and Sinopec expect to complete their joint phenol-acetone plant in Shanghai by the end of the year, a source close to the Japanese producer said on Friday.

The project called Shanghai Sinopec Mitsui Chemical will be able to produce 250,000 tonnes/year of phenol and 150,000 tonnes/year of acetone, the source said at the sidelines of the 12th China international phenol-acetone and derivative forum in Changsa.

The plant is due for start-up next year, the source said.
