SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Singapore’s chemicals output fell by 4.1% year on year in June 2013, with all segments within the cluster recording declines, the Economic Development Board (EDB) said on Friday.

June output from the specialties and petrochemicals segments fell by 3.8% year on year and 5.5%, respectively, because of plant shutdowns, the EDB said in its monthly report, without providing further details.

In the first six months of the year, Singapore’s chemicals cluster output fell by 1.4% year on year.

For the month of June, Singapore’s overall manufacturing output declined by 5.9%  year on year, and down a seasonally-adjusted 3.1% from May, the EDB said.
