LONDON (ICIS)--The European August butadiene (BD) contract price has been agreed down by €250/tonne at €750/tonne ($1,000/tonne), contract players said on Tuesday.
The contract, which is settled on a free delivered (FD) northwest Europe (NWE) basis, has been confirmed by one major producer and one major consumer. Confirmation from two other players in the settlement is pending.
Sources said the decrease had been driven by poor demand and to ensure that European prices remained competitive.
The European July BD contract price had been agreed down by €250/tonne at €1,000/tonne.
