HOUSTON (ICIS)--US acrylonitrile (ACN) production in Q2 2013 totalled about 533m lbs (242,000 tonnes), down almost 19% from 655m lbs a year earlier, the American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM) said on Wednesday.
ACN production for the second quarter fell nearly 12% from 604m lbs in Q1 2013, the group said.
Total ACN output for the first half of 2013 was about 1.14bn lbs, down almost 16% from 1.35bn lbs in H1 2012, according to the AFPM.
AFPM’s quarterly data is based on voluntary reports. Participating in the survey were Ascend Performance Materials, Cornerstone Industries and INEOS.
