SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s CPC Corp’s production at its paraxylene (PX) facilities were unaffected by the shutdown at the company’s refinery in Kaohsiung, a company source said on Thursday.
The company is currently operating its 250,000 tonne/year No 2 PX plant at around 80% of capacity, the source said.
CPC Corp also operates a 150,000 tonne/year No 1 PX unit and a 260,000 tonne/year No 3 PX unit which is currently shut since the start of the year because of weak market conditions and squeezed margins.
“CPC Corp currently does not have any plans to restart the other two lines, and have no turnarounds scheduled in the near term,” the source added.
