SHANGHAI (ICIS)--China’s Zhenjiang Liancheng Chemical Industry Co plans to start up its new 150,000 tonne/year polyvinyl chloride (PVC) line in Jiangsu province late this month, a company source said late on Thursday.

Zhenjiang Liancheng currently runs two PVC lines, each with a 150,000 tonne/year capacity. When the new line starts up, the company's total PVC capacity would be 450,000 tonnes/year, the source said.

China currently has ample domestic supply of PVC that any additional capacity  may weigh on the market, a local trader said.

Zhanjiang Liangcheng is a subsidiary of Taiwan Liancheng Chemical Science & Technology Co, also produces dioctyl phthalate (DOP), unsaturated polyester resin (UPR) and phthalic anhydride (PA).
