TOKYO (ICIS)--Mitsubishi Corp’s chemicals operations posted a 12% year-on-year increase in first-quarter net profit to yen (Y) 8bn ($80m), the Japanese firm said on Friday.
The segment’s gross profit in the three months to 30 June 2013 rose by 3.6% to Y23.3bn, while net sales grew 34% to Y744.6bn, the company said.
Mitsubishi Corp’s overall net profit for the June quarter increased 15% year on year to Y115.8bn, while its operating profit more than doubled to Y44.3bn from Y17.6bn, with net sales up 13% at Y5,407bn.
