Taiwan’s FPCC to shut MTBE unit for turnaround in September

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s Formosa Petrochemical Corp (FPCC) plans to shut its 190,000 tonne/year methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) plant at Mailiao for a turnaround from September to October , traders said on Friday.

The plant will be shut from 11 September to 20 October, a source close to the company said.

Supply to a major customer will not be affect during this turnaround, the source added.

The company could not be reached for comment.
