HOUSTON (ICIS)--US engineering firm KBR was awarded a contract for front-end engineering and design (FEED) for renovations to a refinery in the Midwest, the company said on Monday.
KBR did not reveal the name of the company or specific location of “one of the oldest operating refineries in the US”. The company did not respond to a request for comment.
The contract calls for KBR to overhaul heavy crude processing capability and flexibility.
“The refinery currently processes light sweet crudes and aims to take advantage of fluctuations in the crude oil pricing market by gaining the flexibility to process heavier sour crude oils,” KBR said.
