HOUSTON (ICIS)--Tronox has hired two former executives from mining major Rio Tinto, the US-based integrated titanium dioxide (TiO2) producer said on Wednesday.
Tronox said that Katherine Harper will join the company on 16 September as chief financial officer (CFO). Tronox’s previous CFO Daniel Greenwell resigned earlier this year.
Harper was CFO and business development officer of Rio Tinto's diamonds and minerals group.
Meanwhile, Jean-Francois Turgeon will join Tronox on 1 January 2014 as executive vice president to oversee the combined operations of Tronox’s Mineral Sands and Pigment & Electrolytic Divisions, the company said.
Trevor Arran, senior vice president and president of the Mineral Sands division and John Romano, senior vice president and president of the Pigment & Electrolytic division, will continue in their executive roles and report to Turgeon.
Turgeon worked at Rio Tinto for more than 24 years, most recently as managing director of that company’s iron and titanium division.
Turgeon and Harper will report to Tronox CEO Tom Casey. They will be based at the company's corporate offices in ?xml:namespace>
