HOUSTON (ICIS)--Unigel Mexico will shut down its 60,000 tonne/year acrylonitrile plant in Mexico next week, sources said.

The shutdown for plant maintenance will begin on 12 August and is scheduled to last for 10 days, sources said.

The plant was shut down for about six weeks earlier this year for routine maintenance and restarted in mid-April.

The plant is in the Morelos petrochemical complex in Veracruz, Mexico, and is a joint effort between Unigel and Pemex Petroquimica.

The facility began operations in 2009.
