HOUSTON (ICIS)--Calumet Specialty Products expects to announce increases in paraffinic base oil prices “in the next couple of days”, an executive with the US-based refiner said on Wednesday.

Calumet recently raised prices on naphthenic base oils by 15 cents/gal and solvents by 20 cents/gal, said Jennifer Straumins, president of the company. She made her comments during a Q2 earnings conference call.

Asphalt prices also were raised recently, and paraffinic base oil price increases should be announced soon following similar announcements by other base oil producers, she said.

Straumins did not disclose the amount of the expected price increase.
