China’s Qingdao Lidong to debottleneck aromatics unit in early Oct

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China's Qingdao Lidong Chemical plans to shuts its aromatics facility in early October for debottlenecking that will expand the unit’s production capacity, a source familiar with the matter said on Friday.

The aromatics unit in Qingdao will be shut on 7 October for 45 days, the source said.

After the debottlenecking, the company will be able to produce 800,000 tonnes/year of paraxylene (PX) from 700,000 tonnes/year currently, while benzene production will increase to 270,000 tonnes/year from 240,000 tonnes/year, according to the source.
