SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China's Ningxia Dadi Chemo-industrial plans to shut its 100,000 tonne/year vinyl acetate monomer (VAM) No 1 plant and downstream 50,000 tonne/year polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) plant in early September for maintenance, a company official said on Friday.

The plants are located in Yinchuan city of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region in northwestern China.

“The maintenance will last for about one month,” said the source.

The company is currently building a 160,000 tonne/year No 2 VAM plant and a downstream 80,000 tonne/year PVOH plant at the site that are scheduled to start up by end-2013, the source said.

Ningxia Dadi Chemo-industrial is a major PVOH producer in China.
