SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’s Hyundai Cosmo (HC) Petrochemical has further cut production at its 800,000 tonne/year No 2 paraxylene (PX) unit in Daesan on Friday, a company source said.
The company is currently operating the unit at around 80%, down from 85-90% previously, because of squeezed margins between feedstock mixed xylenes and PX, the source said.
HC Petrochemical earlier cut production in early August.
“It [reduced run rates] will last until the margin recovers,” said the source.
