SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China sold 1.52m units of vehicles in July, up by 9.9% year on year, but down from 1.75m units in June, official industry data showed on Friday.
Vehicles production in July increased 10.2% on year to 1.58m units, but 5.4% lower compared with June, according to data from China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).
Passenger car sales in July grew 10.5% on year to 1.24m units, with production up 9.6% to 1.30m units in the month.
In January-July 2013, China’s total vehicles sales and production both stood at about 12.3m units, rising by 12.0% and 12.5% year on year, respectively.
Passenger car sales and production for the seven-month period increased by the same rate 13.4% to 9.90m and 9.96m units, respectively.
