Japan's foamed PS production increases 7.9% in July

TOKYO (ICIS)--Japan's production of foamed polystyrene (PS) sheet or polystyrene paper (PSP) rose by 7.9% year on year to 8,020 tonnes in July, official industry figures showed on Monday.

Among the total, its output of rolled PSP trays increased by 12% to 3,760 tonnes, according to Japan Polystyrene Foamed Sheet Industry Association (JASFA).

Production of general-purpose PSP was up 16% to 1,700 tonnes, based on the data.

PSP is primarily used for food packaging.
