LONDON (ICIS)--European ethylene and propylene production during the second quarter fell by around 4% compared with the same period in 2012, according to statistics produced by the Association of Petrochemical Producers in Europe (APPE)*.
Ethylene production totalled 4,586,000 tonnes in the April to June period, down by 179,000 tonnes from the year before.
Propylene production totalled 3,473,000 tonnes compared with 3,601,000 tonnes in 2012.
The sizeable reductions reflect the heavier than usual spring cracker maintenance schedule seen in Europe.
