HOUSTON (ICIS)--US fuel ethanol spot prices were mostly steady on Wednesday as corn futures moved only slightly.

Corn futures settled at $4.65/bushel, down 4 cents/gal from 7 August. Corn prices have fallen substantially in recent weeks as many expect this to be a bumper crop.

Meanwhile, ethanol stocks were down slightly for the week ended 9 August, even as production ticked higher.

Prices in the Midwest were stable at $2.32-2.33/gal. Chicago prices were steady at $2.27-2.28/gal.

Southern California prices were at $2.49-2.50/gal, while New York Harbor (NYH) prices were stronger at $2.47-2.49/gal as supply issues continue to plague the region.
