SINGAPORE (ICIS)--PetroChina’s subsidiary Urumqi Petrochemical is planning to start up its new 6m tonne/year crude distillation unit (CDU) at Urumqi in Xinjiang province in late October, a company source said on Thursday.
A 2.5m tonne/year CDU at the same site would be phased out upon the start-up of the new one, according to the source.
The company is currently conducting a site maintenance, which started on 10 August and is expected to complete by 10 September.
Urumqi Petrochemical primarily operates a 6m tonne/year (120,000bbl/day) refinery at the Urumqi site.
