HOUSTON (ICIS)--Axiall has named George Biltz as its chief strategy officer, effective immediately, the US-based integrated chemicals firm announced on Friday.
In the newly created position, Biltz will lead in the identification, assessment, analysis and negotiations of strategic opportunities to support the company’s growth goals, Axiall said.
Biltz has more than 30 years of experience in the chemical industry, including serving as the corporate vice president of strategy, planning and merger and acquisitions (M&A) at Dow Chemical, as well as CEO roles at ANGUS Chemical and Ascot Chemical.
“This is an important senior leadership role at Axiall, which is expected to drive consistent strategy and visioning, focus on key strategic initiatives and fuel business development and M&A activities,” said Paul Carrico, Axiall’s president and CEO. “The depth and breadth of George’s strategic and operational experiences, coupled with his leadership roles, make George ideally suited for this role.”
