HOUSTON (ICIS)--US Chevron Phillips Chemical began the restart process at its Sweeny No. 33 cracker in Texas on Friday, according to a filing with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).

The filing said that the No. 33 ethylene unit began the restart process after being forced to shut down on 13 August.

The shutdown was caused by the control system on the propylene compressor initiated a trip because of high vibration levels.

The unit has an ethylene capacity of 907,000 tonnes/year, according to ICIS plants and projects.
