SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Hangzhou Zhechen Rubber restarted its 100,000 tonne/year styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) plant at Hangzhou in Zhejiang province on 18 August, a company source said on Monday.
In view of poor demand, the company is expected to operate its SBR unit at around 50% of capacity, the source said.
The output will be sold from 21 August onwards, the source added.
The company shut the plant on 27 June for maintenance, and was scheduled to be restarted in July. However, it was delayed because of the poor SBR market conditions and limited power supply in Zhejiang province resulted from heat waves, a market source said.
