Ammonia imports soar 70% in June reveals latest Eurostat data

LONDON (ICIS)--European ammonia imports and exports for June both surged around 70% year on year, Eurostat data revealed on Monday.

According to statistics compiled by the European Commission, June ammonia imports jumped 70% to 215,008 tonnes from 126,355 tonnes in the same month of the year prior.

For the same 30-day period, ammonia exports soared 71% to 15,271 tonnes from 8,926 tonnes in the year-ago period.

In mid-July, Eurostat revealed May ammonia imports slumped nearly 20% year on year to 204,777 tonnes, while May ammonia exports edged up slightly to 7,893 tonnes.
