SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Lubrizol Corp has opened its new additives plant in Zhuhai at Guangdong province, China, the US specialty chemicals firm said on Tuesday.

The facility will offer select additive component manufacturing as well as additive package blending, the company said in a statement.

“Over the coming years, additional capabilities and capacity will be phased in to meet market demand,” it said.

The production site at Zhuhai also includes a research, development and testing lab which will support Lubrizol's engine oils, driveline, industrial and fuel additive businesses, the company said.

The lab will support field testing in local vehicles under local conditions in China, it added.

Further details of the new plant were not disclosed in the company’s statement.
