Russia's July monomer, polymer production up, ferts output falls

MOSCOW (ICIS)--Russia's overall production of monomers and polymers was up last month, while fertilizers output was down, the Russian statistical agency Rosstat said on Tuesday.
In July 2013, the country's total output of ethylene had increased by 22% year on year at 217,000 tonnes, while propylene production was up 21.5% at 107,000 tonnes, Rosstat said.
The country's total output of polyethylene (PE) was up by 24% year on year at 155,000 tonnes, while polypropylene (PP) production had risen by 28% at 74,900 tonnes, it said.
Russia's total production of styrene in July was up by 23.4% year on year at 44,300 tonnes, while polystyrene (PS) output was 30.7% higher at 38,000 tonnes, according to Rosstat.
Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) production was up by 3.2% year on year in July at 56,300 tonnes, the agency said. Phenol output rose 4.1% at 23,300 tonnes, it added.
The country's total output of mineral fertilizers in July was down by 2% year on year at 1.5m tonnes, according to the agency, although ammonia output was up 5.5% at 1.15m tonnes, it said.By: Sergei Blagov+44 20 8652 3214
