SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Zhong Tian He Chuang Energy has secured government approval to build a 3.6m tonne/year coal-based methanol plant at Ordos in Inner Mongolia, its parent company Sinopec said on Wednesday.
The approval was granted by Inner Mongolia Development & Reform Commission on 19 August, Sinopec said in a newsletter.
The company also has a second phase project that will produce olefins from methanol, according to Sinopec.
Investment details and timetables of the projects are not available.
