Japan's PS production increases 25% in July

TOKYO (ICIS)-- Japan’s production of polystyrene (PS) increased by 25% month on month to 56,002 tonnes in July, official industry data showed on Wednesday.

This is a 1% increase year on year, according to Japan Styrene Industry Association (JSIA).

The country’s internal demand for PS rose by 8% month on month and 11% year on year to 54,687 tonnes, based on the data.

The export volume of PS, however, fell by 38% to 1,266 tonnes from the previous month, and decreased by 20% year on year, the statistics showed.
