LONDON (ICIS)--Arkema has restarted its phthalic anhydride (PA) and dioctyl phthalate (DOP) units in Chauny, France, following a planned shutdown, a company source said on Wednesday.

The principal PA reactor restarted at the weekend and the DOP plant restarted on Tuesday, the source said.

The DOP unit is not yet producing on-spec material, but this is expected shortly, the source added.

The combined turnaround began on 29 July, with the restart process beginning on schedule last week.

Headquartered in France, Arkema’s nameplate capacity for PA at Chauny is 90,000 tonnes/year, while its DOP capacity at the site is 70,000 tonnes/year.
