LONDON (ICIS)--AkzoNobel will begin a planned two-week shutdown of its 100,000 tonne/year ethanolamines plant in Stenungsund, Sweden, in September/early October, a source at the Netherlands-based company said on Wednesday.

The producer said the shutdown will not disrupt its business as it will build inventory ahead of the shutdown. The Swedish plant produces monoethanolamines and diethanolamines.

The European ethanolamines market remains weak because of soft demand from certain applications which are used in the construction sector.
