SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Teck Guan China restarted its 100,000 tonne/year fatty alcohol plant in Jiangsu province after completing a scheduled turnaround this week, a company source said on Thursday.

The plant was taken off line by the end of July for a catalyst change, a couple of weeks later than the earlier plans of around mid-July.

The current operating rate was not immediately known.

Import prices for C12-14 fatty alcohol prices tumbled to yuan (CNY) 13,000/tonne ($2,124/tonne) DEL (delivered) on 21 August, down from CNY14,000/tonne DEL in the previous week after news about the plants restart were heard.
