US Georgia-Pacific acquires fibres, nonwovens maker Buckeye

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US chemicals producer Georgia-Pacific on Friday completed the acquisition of US specialty fibres and nonwoven materials manufacturer Buckeye Technologies for $1.5bn (€1.1bn), including debt.

Announced in April, the acquisition of Buckeye’s outstanding stocks includes five manufacturing facilities, global sales offices and headquarters.

Georgia-Pacific makes building products, tissue, packaging, paper, cellulose and related chemicals.
