SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan’s JX Nippon Oil & Energy plans to restart its 460,000 tonne/year naphtha cracker at Kawasaki, Japan, on 29 August, a source close to the company said on Monday.
The company’s olefins conversion unit (OCU), which can produce around 140,000 tonnes/year of propylene, in the same Kawasaki complex is likely to resume operations about a week after the cracker is restarted, the source said.
The cracker and the OCU were shut on 19 August because of a technical problem.
